Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Google, and Tableau are among the most active H-1B visa sponsors for technical solutions engineer roles in Washington. Smaller enterprise software and cloud infrastructure companies in the Seattle area also file regularly. Sponsorship activity tends to be concentrated among established tech employers with dedicated immigration programs and in-house legal teams rather than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineers in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions engineers in Washington, given the role's requirement for specialized knowledge in areas like software integration, APIs, or enterprise platforms. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT may also work in these roles before H-1B sponsorship is pursued. Some employers also sponsor L-1B transfers for candidates moving internally from international offices.
Which cities in Washington have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the large majority of technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by its concentration of enterprise tech, cloud, and SaaS employers. Bellevue and Redmond are also significant, with Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond and a growing number of enterprise software companies based in Bellevue. Outside the Seattle metro, sponsorship activity drops off considerably.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical solutions engineer roles in Washington without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform is built for this search, so you can focus on employers who have filed H-1B petitions for similar roles rather than cold-applying to companies with no sponsorship history.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for technical solutions engineer roles and visa sponsorship?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation structures that employers must account for under H-1B Labor Condition Application requirements. The University of Washington and Washington State University also produce a steady pipeline of international graduates who transition into technical solutions engineer roles, meaning local employers are generally familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions and the associated timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
