Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in Wisconsin?
Fiserv in Milwaukee, Epic Systems in Verona, and Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee have histories of sponsoring H-1B visas for technical roles. Smaller enterprise software firms and managed services providers in the Madison and Milwaukee metro areas also file LCA applications for technical solutions engineers, particularly for positions requiring specialized knowledge of their platforms or integration ecosystems.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions engineers in Wisconsin, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN visa status under the engineer or computer systems analyst category, depending on how the role is scoped.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the majority of technical solutions engineer sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Milwaukee draws demand through its financial technology and industrial automation sectors, anchored by employers like Fiserv and Rockwell Automation. Madison's concentration of health IT and enterprise software companies, including Epic Systems, makes it the other primary hiring hub for these roles.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers willing to sponsor visas, so you can search for technical solutions engineer roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform surfaces openings at companies like Fiserv, Epic, and others in the Milwaukee and Madison markets, saving time that would otherwise go toward researching each employer's sponsorship history independently.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for technical solutions engineer candidates seeking sponsorship?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are tied to DOL wage surveys for the Milwaukee and Madison metropolitan areas, which differ from national averages. Candidates with ties to University of Wisconsin-Madison or Milwaukee School of Engineering may find stronger employer networks in-state, as local alumni relationships often factor into hiring decisions for client-facing technical roles that require both engineering depth and communication skills.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
