Which companies in Tennessee sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers?
Nashville-based employers are the most active sponsors for technical solutions engineer roles in Tennessee. Companies like Oracle, Asurion, and Deloitte have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for solutions engineering positions in the state. Healthcare technology firms, including those supporting HCA Healthcare's vendor ecosystem, also hire for these roles. Sponsorship availability varies by company size, hiring cycle, and whether the role meets specialty occupation requirements.
What visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions engineers in Tennessee, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1B visas through multinational employers may also transfer into similar roles. Australian citizens can explore the E-3 as an H-1B alternative, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the majority of technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its concentration of technology companies, healthcare IT firms, and enterprise software vendors. Memphis has a smaller but active market, particularly in logistics technology and financial services. Brentwood and Franklin, both Nashville suburbs, also host corporate headquarters that occasionally hire for these roles.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for technical solutions engineer roles in Tennessee without wading through positions that won't consider international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers who have an active history of H-1B and other visa sponsorships. Filtering by Tennessee and the technical solutions engineer category gives you a focused, relevant set of opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical solutions engineers seeking sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since total compensation structures differ from states like California or New York. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wages by metropolitan area, so Nashville and Memphis have separate wage determinations. Tennessee's growing university pipeline, including Vanderbilt and the University of Tennessee, supplies local engineering talent, meaning employers may be selective about sponsoring when domestic candidates are available.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
