Search Technical Solutions Engineer Jobs in FloridaTechnical Solutions Engineer Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in Florida sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers?
Enterprise technology companies with Florida offices are the most consistent sponsors for technical solutions engineer roles. Cisco, IBM, Salesforce, Oracle, and Microsoft have all filed H-1B visa petitions for similar roles in Florida. Cybersecurity firms and cloud services providers in the Miami and Tampa corridors also sponsor regularly, particularly as Florida's tech sector has expanded beyond traditional industries like finance and healthcare.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions engineers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as computer science or engineering. Australian nationals may pursue the E-3 visa as an alternative. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work in these roles while an employer files an H-1B petition.
Which cities in Florida have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads in volume, driven by its concentration of enterprise technology companies, financial services firms, and Latin American headquarters operations. Tampa follows closely, with a strong presence of cybersecurity companies, healthcare technology firms, and regional offices of national enterprise software vendors. Orlando also generates consistent demand, particularly from simulation, defense technology, and hospitality technology companies that rely on technical solutions engineers for client-facing implementations.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters technical solutions engineer roles in Florida by visa sponsorship history, so you're not sorting through postings from employers who won't sponsor. Search by city to focus on Miami, Tampa, or Orlando depending on your preferences. Because sponsoring companies tend to hire for this role repeatedly, filtering to verified sponsors significantly narrows the list to realistic opportunities.
Are there any Florida-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for technical solutions engineers?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations under Department of Labor requirements, though the federal prevailing wage standard still applies. Florida's large university system, including the University of Florida and University of South Florida, produces a consistent pipeline of OPT-eligible candidates that employers in Tampa and Orlando are accustomed to sponsoring. The state's growing fintech and healthtech sectors have made Miami-area employers increasingly familiar with H-1B sponsorship for technical roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
