Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in New Jersey?
Companies with a strong track record of sponsoring technical solutions engineers in New Jersey include Cognizant, Conduent, Deloitte, Tata Consultancy Services, and Infosys, all of which have major NJ operations. Financial services firms along the Jersey City waterfront and pharmaceutical technology companies in the Route 1 corridor also file H-1B visa petitions regularly for this role type. DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data confirms consistent filings across these employers.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions engineers in New Jersey, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN visa status under the engineer category. Australian citizens may explore the E-3 visa. L-1B intracompany transfers are also used when candidates move from an overseas office of a multinational employer.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark generate the highest concentration of technical solutions engineer sponsorship activity in New Jersey, driven by proximity to New York City financial services and technology firms. Parsippany, Princeton, and the Route 1 corridor between Trenton and New Brunswick are also significant, reflecting clusters of pharmaceutical technology, consulting, and enterprise software companies that routinely sponsor for this role.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse technical solutions engineer roles in New Jersey without manually screening each posting. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in job descriptions, using a platform built around this filter saves significant time. Migrate Mate's board is particularly useful for narrowing results to New Jersey employers who have an established history of sponsoring international candidates in technical roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for technical solutions engineers seeking sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are benchmarked against the Newark-Jersey City metropolitan statistical area, which tends to reflect higher wage levels than many other U.S. metros due to proximity to New York City. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must certify they will pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and location. New Jersey also has a strong university pipeline, with Rutgers University and NJIT supplying a significant share of OPT candidates that employers in the state are experienced in sponsoring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
