Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in New York?
Large enterprise technology companies with significant New York presences, including Salesforce, Google, IBM, Oracle, and Datadog, have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for technical solutions engineer roles. Financial services firms with in-house technology divisions, such as JPMorgan Chase and Bloomberg, also sponsor this role. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so checking employer-specific LCA filings on the DOL disclosure database is the most reliable way to verify a company's history.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions engineers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT can work before H-1B sponsorship is secured. L-1B visas apply when an employee transfers from an overseas office of the same company in a specialized knowledge capacity.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical solutions engineer openings in New York without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in standard job postings, using a platform built around sponsorship data saves significant time. Migrate Mate's New York listings cover both enterprise software companies in Manhattan and the broader metro area's growing SaaS and cloud sectors.
Which cities in New York have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
New York City, and Manhattan in particular, accounts for the overwhelming majority of technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs in the state. The Midtown and downtown Manhattan corridors host dense concentrations of enterprise software vendors, financial technology firms, and cloud infrastructure companies that hire for this role. Buffalo and Albany have smaller but emerging tech sectors, though sponsorship activity in those cities is considerably lower than in New York City.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for technical solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
New York's high cost of living directly affects the prevailing wage calculations that employers must meet when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B sponsorship. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wages by metropolitan area, so New York City LCA wages are among the highest in the country for this role. Additionally, several major universities in the state, including Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island and Columbia University, supply engineering graduates who compete for the same sponsorship opportunities, making early applications and niche technical specializations important differentiators.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
