- Work with customers to understand their specific needs, special situations, and use cases, then identify and implement solutions.
- Hands-on configuration of the module, including setup, data triage, and customization.
- Understand data dependencies and help resolve data issues.

- Continuously engage with customers to maintain project velocity, generate buy-in, and drive adoption.
- Work with Customer Success to collaborate on customer interaction, escalation, and timelines.

- Confident presenting to district stakeholders and motivating them to complete tasks.
- Clear and concise communicator — the ability to boil down product and engineering jargon into simple and concise customer communications.

Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in Washington DC?
Federal contractors and technology firms are the most active sponsors in the DC area. Companies like Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, Accenture Federal Services, and Palantir have a history of sponsoring work visas for technical roles. Enterprise software vendors and cloud providers with government-focused divisions, including Microsoft and AWS, also sponsor technical solutions engineers in this market.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa category for technical solutions engineers in DC, as the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with approved EB-2 or EB-3 petitions may also hold employment authorization while pursuing permanent residence. Some employers with multinational structures use L-1B visas for intracompany transfers into solutions engineering roles.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for technical solutions engineer roles in Washington DC without sorting through positions that don't support work authorization. You can browse active openings from federal contractors, defense technology firms, and enterprise software companies across the DC metro area, all verified for sponsorship intent.
Which cities in Washington DC have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Washington DC itself is the primary hub, but the broader metro area, including Arlington and Tysons Corner in Virginia, concentrates a significant share of sponsoring employers. Tysons Corner in particular hosts large federal IT contractors and technology company offices. Bethesda and Rockville in Maryland also have a presence, particularly for health-tech and government-adjacent firms seeking technical solutions talent.
Are there specific considerations for technical solutions engineers pursuing sponsorship in the DC market?
Many employers in the DC area require or prefer candidates who can obtain a federal security clearance, which adds a layer of complexity for visa holders. Non-US citizens can begin the clearance process, but certain clearance levels are restricted to U.S. citizens, which can limit role access. Candidates on H-1B or other work visas should confirm clearance eligibility with the employer before applying to classified or sensitive positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
