Which companies sponsor visas for accounting associates in Utah?
Companies with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for accounting roles in Utah include Goldman Sachs, Adobe, and regional public accounting firms operating out of Salt Lake City. National firms with Utah offices, including large audit and advisory practices, have also sponsored accounting associates. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate among larger employers with established HR and legal infrastructure to manage the petition process.
Which visa types are most common for accounting associate roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for accounting associate positions, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process but without the lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals in accounting may qualify under the TN visa category, which does not require an employer petition through USCIS.
Which cities in Utah have the most accounting associate sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of accounting associate sponsorship activity in Utah, given its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and regional offices. Provo and Lehi, sometimes called the Silicon Slopes, have grown significantly as tech companies in the area build out their finance and accounting functions. Ogden also sees some sponsorship activity through manufacturing and logistics sector employers with accounting needs.
How to find accounting associate visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for accounting associate roles in Utah to see employers actively open to sponsoring work visas. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on sponsorship-eligible listings, saving significant research time.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for accounting associates seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set by the Department of Labor and reflect local wage data for accounting roles in each metropolitan area. Salt Lake City wages differ from those in smaller markets like St. George or Logan, so the offered wage must meet the prevailing wage for the specific work location. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University both produce accounting graduates, creating a pipeline that some employers draw from when considering international candidates already in the state on student visas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting associate jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
