Job Description
Are you passionate about transforming data into insight and impact? Snap Finance is redefining the future of financial technology through innovation, intelligence, and accessibility. We’re looking for a Lead BI Analytics Engineer to drive the next evolution of our analytics ecosystem — empowering teams through exceptional data visualization, robust data modeling, and smart BI platform optimization.
If you live and breathe data, love clean models and beautiful dashboards, and want to push the boundaries of what’s possible in business intelligence (including responsible AI adoption), this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-impact BI dashboards and data visualizations that drive strategic decision-making across all levels of the business.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements, define meaningful KPIs, and ensure insights align with company goals.
- Architect and maintain scalable data models, ensuring performance, integrity, and usability across multiple data domains.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL (Presto, PostgreSQL, or equivalent) for analysis, dashboard feeds, and automation pipelines.
- Oversee and continuously improve our Tableau ecosystem (or equivalent BI platforms) — including governance, content strategy, performance optimization, and user enablement.
- Use Python to automate workflows, enrich datasets, and build repeatable analytical frameworks.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and visualizations, integrating them with BI tools where appropriate for ad-hoc analysis and executive reporting.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to align BI architecture with business needs and system capabilities.
- Champion best practices in visualization design, storytelling, and performance tuning.
- Evaluate and introduce AI-driven efficiencies within the BI space — from intelligent data preparation to automated insights — while maintaining technical rigor and human oversight.
- Mentor analysts and BI developers, setting standards for data modeling, dashboard development, and analytical quality.
Ensure a culture of data trust, scalability, and continual improvement across the BI environment.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence engineering, data analytics, or a related technical field.
- Deep expertise in SQL — capable of building, optimizing, and mentoring on complex query logic and data modeling.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and integration workflows.
- Expert-level skills in Tableau and Excel — capable of creating dynamic dashboards, advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, and interactive visualizations.
- Proven experience in data modeling for analytics — star/snowflake schemas, semantic layers, and KPI standardization.
- Strong experience working with business stakeholders to define KPIs, build requirements, and deliver insights that drive measurable outcomes.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles and how BI fits into the larger data ecosystem.
- Curiosity and openness to AI and automation — an eagerness to apply emerging tools to make BI faster, smarter, and more scalable.
- Experience with R or Shiny is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling business insights.
- A leadership mindset that combines technical excellence with mentoring, collaboration, and the drive to raise team capability.

Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for analytics managers?
Several Utah-based technology employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for analytics roles. Adobe's Lehi campus, Qualtrics, Domo, and financial services firms in Salt Lake City regularly file H-1B visa petitions for data and analytics leadership positions. Larger enterprises with established HR infrastructure are generally more equipped to manage the sponsorship process than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for analytics manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for analytics managers in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's or advanced degree in a specialized field such as statistics, data science, computer science, or business analytics. Candidates with advanced degrees may also explore the EB-2 immigrant visa category for longer-term permanent residency. Nationals from Australia and Canada have additional options through the E-3 visa and TN visa categories respectively.
Which cities in Utah have the most analytics manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the majority of analytics manager sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of enterprise technology and financial services companies. Lehi and Provo, part of the Silicon Slopes corridor, also generate significant demand, particularly from SaaS and data platform companies headquartered or with major offices there. Ogden sees lighter but consistent activity from healthcare and logistics employers.
How to find analytics manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., including analytics manager roles filtered by state. You can browse Utah-specific listings on Migrate Mate to identify employers actively sponsoring, rather than applying broadly and discovering late that sponsorship isn't available. Focusing your search on companies with verified H-1B filing histories in Utah saves considerable time.
Are there state-specific considerations for analytics managers seeking sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's Silicon Slopes region has produced a strong pipeline of analytics talent through the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, which means employer familiarity with OPT and H-1B sponsorship tends to be higher than in less tech-concentrated states. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Salt Lake City or Provo metropolitan areas, which are set based on the specific role level and location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored analytics manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
