Which companies sponsor visas for director of project management roles in Utah?
Technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor, including Adobe, Qualtrics, and Domo, have sponsored senior project management positions in Utah. Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health are active sponsors in healthcare. Defense contractors like L3Harris, based along the Wasatch Front, also hire at the director level. Sponsorship at this seniority tier is more common at large, established organizations than at early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for director of project management roles in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for director of project management positions in Utah, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1A visas are an option for candidates transferring from a foreign affiliated office into a managerial capacity. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1A, though that standard is demanding at any experience level.
Which cities in Utah have the most director of project management sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its surrounding Wasatch Front cities, including Lehi, Draper, and South Jordan, concentrate the majority of director of project management sponsorship opportunities in Utah. Lehi in particular is the center of Silicon Slopes, hosting regional headquarters for several large technology companies. Ogden and Provo also have employer bases in healthcare, manufacturing, and defense that occasionally hire at the director level with visa sponsorship.
How to find director of project management visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to identify director of project management openings in Utah without manually screening each employer. Because sponsorship at the director level is offered by a narrower set of companies, searching with a sponsorship-specific filter saves significant time. Migrate Mate's board focuses on roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor, which is particularly useful for senior positions in competitive markets like Salt Lake City.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for director of project management sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply to director of project management roles, and employers must certify that the offered compensation meets the Department of Labor's wage level for the occupation and metro area. The Wasatch Front's rapid tech growth has created genuine demand for senior project leaders, but director-level roles carry heightened USCIS scrutiny around specialty occupation classification. Candidates should ensure the role emphasizes technical project complexity, not purely administrative oversight, when supporting a petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of project management jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
