Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for risk compliance analysts?
Financial institutions are the most active sponsors in Utah. Zions Bancorporation, Goldman Sachs (which operates a significant Salt Lake City office), and regional credit unions and insurance firms have sponsored H-1B petitions for compliance roles. Healthcare organizations like Intermountain Health also hire risk and compliance professionals. Sponsorship activity varies year to year, so reviewing recent H-1B disclosure data from the Department of Labor gives the clearest picture of which Utah employers are actively filing.
What visa types are most common for risk compliance analyst roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for risk compliance analysts in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa in the relevant professional categories. Individuals with extraordinary achievement in compliance or financial risk may explore the O-1, though that standard is demanding for most early-career applicants.
Which Utah cities have the most risk compliance analyst visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the large majority of risk compliance analyst sponsorship opportunities in Utah, driven by its concentration of banks, insurance companies, and fintech firms. South Jordan and Sandy, which host back-office operations for several national financial institutions, are secondary hubs. Provo and the broader Utah Valley see some activity through technology companies with compliance needs, though Salt Lake City remains the clear center of gravity for this role.
How to find risk compliance analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, so you can search for risk compliance analyst positions in Utah without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces roles from employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, which is particularly useful in a specialized field like compliance where sponsorship is common among larger financial institutions but inconsistent at smaller firms. Setting up role-specific alerts on Migrate Mate helps you act quickly when new Utah positions appear.
Are there state-specific considerations for risk compliance analyst roles and visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's status as a growing fintech and insurance hub means compliance roles here often require familiarity with state-level financial regulations administered by the Utah Department of Financial Institutions, in addition to federal frameworks like BSA and AML requirements. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the prevailing wage determined by the Department of Labor for the Salt Lake City or Provo metropolitan areas, which reflects local market rates. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University produce compliance and finance graduates, creating a pipeline that some employers draw from alongside international hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk compliance analyst jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
