Which companies sponsor visas for service advisors in Utah?
Large dealership groups are the most active sponsors for service advisor roles in Utah. Larry H. Miller Dealerships and Ken Garff Automotive, both headquartered in Salt Lake City, operate across multiple brands and have the HR infrastructure to support visa sponsorship. Franchise dealerships affiliated with Toyota, Honda, and Ford in the Salt Lake and Utah Valley areas are also worth targeting, as national brand affiliations often mean more standardized hiring processes.
Which visa types are most common for service advisor roles in Utah?
Service advisor positions generally require a degree in a directly related field to qualify as a specialty occupation under the H-1B visa. In practice, sponsorship for this role is uncommon through H-1B due to that requirement. TN visas apply only to Canadian and Mexican nationals in designated categories. Candidates with O-1 visa eligibility or existing work authorization through spousal visas or OPT in a relevant field may have more straightforward paths than employer-sponsored petitions from scratch.
Which cities in Utah have the most service advisor sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of service advisor openings in Utah, driven by the high concentration of franchise dealerships and automotive service centers along the Wasatch Front. Sandy, Murray, and Draper within Salt Lake County also have notable dealership clusters. Provo and Orem in Utah County represent a secondary market, with growing automotive retail tied to the region's expanding population.
How to find service advisor visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for service advisor visa sponsorship jobs in Utah. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through listings that won't consider international candidates. For Utah, focus on Salt Lake City and the broader Wasatch Front corridor where dealership hiring is most active. Setting up alerts for service advisor roles in Utah ensures you see new sponsorship-eligible postings as they appear.
Are there state-specific considerations for service advisor roles in Utah?
Utah's automotive market is heavily influenced by its dealership-dense Wasatch Front corridor and a customer base that includes a high proportion of Spanish-speaking residents, making bilingual service advisors particularly valuable to employers in the Salt Lake Valley. The state's strong economy and low unemployment also mean competitive hiring conditions. Employers filing H-1B petitions for service advisors must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to Utah's regional wage determinations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service advisor jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
