JOB SUMMARY
Aprio is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Restaurant, Franchise & Hospitality (RFH) practice and lead a skilled team of tax professionals serving one of the firm's most dynamic and fast-growing industry groups. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to restaurant owners, franchisors, franchisees, and hospitality groups — helping clients navigate complex tax challenges, reduce tax exposure, and plan for long-term growth. You will bring deep technical expertise and confident leadership to deliver exceptional client outcomes while developing the next generation of tax talent at Aprio. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, delegating responsibilities, overseeing work quality, and supporting career growth
- Develop and implement tax strategies for restaurant, franchise, and hospitality clients by staying current with evolving tax laws, regulations, and planning opportunities
- Provide consulting services on complex tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity restructuring, tax planning, and industry-specific credits and incentives
- Conduct ongoing tax research to identify planning opportunities and ensure alignment with current federal and regulatory requirements
- Review and prepare tax returns across Partnership, S-Corp, Individual, and Corporate entity types, ensuring accuracy and full compliance
- Build and manage client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact with clients, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
- Train and mentor team members to strengthen technical capabilities and support their professional development
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in a public accounting firm
- Experience preparing and reviewing Partnership, S-Corp, Individual, and Corporate tax returns
- Preferred: Master's degree in Taxation
- Preferred: CPA certification
