Which companies sponsor visas for manager - consulting roles in Washington DC?
The most active sponsors for Manager-level consulting positions in Washington DC include Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte Consulting, McKinsey & Company, Accenture Federal Services, and IBM Consulting. Management consulting firms with federal government practices tend to file H-1B petitions regularly for Manager roles, given the specialized expertise these positions require in areas like strategy, technology transformation, and policy advisory work.
Which visa types are most common for manager - consulting roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B visa is the most common sponsorship pathway for Manager-level consulting roles in Washington DC. Consulting managers typically qualify under the specialty occupation standard given degree requirements in business, economics, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also be eligible for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA Management Consultant category, which does not require a lottery.
How to find manager - consulting visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Manager-level consulting roles in Washington DC that offer visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability and location, so you can focus on DC-based consulting firms and federal contractors without sorting through roles that don't support work visas. Searching by role type on Migrate Mate surfaces relevant openings from major government advisory and management consulting employers in the region.
Which areas in Washington DC have the most manager - consulting sponsorship jobs?
Most consulting Manager roles cluster in downtown DC, particularly around K Street and the Penn Quarter area where major advisory firms maintain offices. The broader National Capital Region also includes significant consulting activity in Tysons Corner and McLean in Virginia, and Bethesda in Maryland, where government contractors like Booz Allen and Leidos are headquartered. Many job postings list a DC address while the actual work spans the broader metro area.
Are there any DC-specific considerations for manager - consulting visa sponsorship?
Washington DC's consulting market is heavily shaped by federal contracting cycles and security clearance requirements. Many Manager-level roles at government-facing firms require or prefer a security clearance, which can affect visa sponsorship timelines since clearance eligibility is generally limited to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. Candidates on nonimmigrant visas often find more sponsorship opportunities within the commercial consulting practices of DC-based firms rather than cleared federal project work.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manager - consulting jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
