Which companies sponsor visas for manager - consulting roles in Michigan?
The largest sponsors of consulting manager roles in Michigan include the Big Four accounting and advisory firms: Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. Management consulting firms such as Accenture and Slalom also maintain Michigan offices and have sponsored H-1B petitions for consulting managers. Automotive-adjacent strategy consultancies supporting Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis are additional sources of sponsorship activity in the state.
Which visa types are most common for manager - consulting roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for consulting managers in Michigan, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, management, economics, or a related field, qualifying them as specialty occupations. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category under the management consultant designation listed in USMCA.
Which cities in Michigan have the most manager - consulting sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, including Troy, Southfield, and Dearborn, account for the largest share of consulting manager positions in Michigan given the concentration of corporate headquarters and professional services firms serving the automotive industry. Ann Arbor, home to a strong university ecosystem and technology-adjacent consulting practices, and Grand Rapids, with its growing healthcare and manufacturing advisory sector, are the next most active markets.
How to find manager - consulting visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters consulting manager roles in Michigan by sponsorship history, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. Search for manager - consulting positions filtered to Michigan on Migrate Mate to see current openings from firms that have a demonstrated track record of filing H-1B and other work visa petitions for this role category.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for consulting manager visa sponsorship?
Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Growth participates in prevailing wage determinations relevant to H-1B Labor Condition Applications, meaning sponsoring employers must certify they are paying wages at or above the prevailing rate for the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn or Grand Rapids metropolitan statistical areas, depending on the work location. Michigan's heavy presence of Big Four and major consulting firms means many employers already have established immigration infrastructure, which can streamline the sponsorship process compared to smaller or first-time sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manager - consulting jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
