Which companies sponsor visas for business operations roles in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Starbucks, and Expedia are among the most active sponsors of business operations roles in Washington. These companies regularly file H-1B petitions for titles such as business analyst, operations manager, and program manager. Larger technology and aerospace employers tend to have established immigration programs, making them more likely to support the full sponsorship process compared to smaller firms.
Which visa types are most common for business operations roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business operations professionals in Washington, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, finance, or operations management. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying analyst roles. Candidates already holding an L-1 transferring within a multinational employer also appear frequently in Washington's corporate hubs.
Which cities in Washington have the most business operations sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the largest share of business operations sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by the dense concentration of technology and corporate headquarters. Redmond is notable for Microsoft's sprawling campus operations. Tacoma and Kirkland have smaller but growing pools of openings, particularly in logistics, supply chain operations, and regional management roles tied to companies with distribution or retail infrastructure in the state.
How to find business operations visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search business operations roles in Washington without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city, role type, and visa category. This is particularly useful for identifying which Washington employers are actively sponsoring rather than relying on general postings that rarely disclose sponsorship status upfront.
Are there any Washington-specific factors that affect business operations sponsorship hiring?
Washington's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program apply at the state level and reflect the high cost of living in the Seattle metro area, meaning employers must meet competitive wage thresholds for sponsored roles. Washington also has strong university pipelines through the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, which feeds local employers with internationally educated graduates. Companies headquartered in Washington are generally more familiar with sponsorship processes than employers in less internationally diverse states.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business operations jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
