Which technology companies sponsor TN visas in Washington?
Washington's technology sector includes some of the most active TN visa sponsors in the country. Microsoft and Amazon are headquartered in the Seattle metro area and regularly hire Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. Other significant employers include Google, Meta, Salesforce, and Expedia, all of which maintain substantial engineering and technology operations across Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond.
Which cities in Washington have the most technology TN sponsorship jobs?
The Seattle metro area accounts for the majority of technology TN sponsorship opportunities in Washington. Bellevue and Redmond are particularly concentrated, with Microsoft's campus in Redmond alone employing tens of thousands of technology workers. Seattle proper hosts Amazon's headquarters alongside numerous mid-sized technology firms. Kirkland also has a growing presence, largely due to Google's satellite engineering office there.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN status covers a defined list of occupations, and several map directly to common technology roles. Computer systems analysts qualify explicitly under the TN category. Software engineers and developers are frequently approved when the position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Other qualifying roles include database administrators, network engineers, and IT project managers where the degree requirement is clearly established in the job description.
How do I find technology TN sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican nationals seeking TN-eligible roles and lets you filter by visa type, state, and industry. For technology TN jobs in Washington, you can search within the Technology and Software category and narrow results to Washington employers. Because TN sponsorship is employer-dependent, Migrate Mate surfaces companies with a documented history of sponsoring TN workers, saving significant research time compared to general job searches.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for technology TN sponsorship?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects total compensation planning for TN workers relocating from Canada or Mexico. The state's concentration of large technology employers means many hiring managers are familiar with TN status, which can simplify internal HR processes compared to states where international hiring is less common. Washington also hosts several immigration law firms specializing in technology worker visas, which can be useful if your role requires a nuanced specialty occupation determination.
