Which companies sponsor visas for accounting associates in Wisconsin?
Large Wisconsin-headquartered employers with established HR and legal infrastructure are the most active sponsors for accounting associate roles. Fiserv, Northwestern Mutual, Kohler, and Advocate Aurora Health have all filed H-1B visa applications for finance and accounting positions. Regional public accounting firms in Milwaukee and Madison also sponsor, though less frequently than enterprise-level corporations. Manufacturing conglomerates with global operations tend to have the strongest sponsorship programs.
Which visa types are most common for accounting associate roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for accounting associates in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category for accountants, which does not require lottery selection and is generally faster to obtain.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most accounting associate sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee accounts for the largest share of accounting associate sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of financial services firms, insurance companies, and corporate headquarters. Madison is the second-largest market, supported by state government agencies, the University of Wisconsin system, and a growing tech sector. Green Bay and Appleton also have demand from manufacturing and healthcare employers, though at lower volumes than the two major metros.
How to find accounting associate visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters accounting associate roles in Wisconsin by visa sponsorship status, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. The platform surfaces opportunities from companies that have a documented history of H-1B and TN visa filings for accounting positions, which is particularly useful in Wisconsin where sponsorship willingness varies significantly between large corporate employers and smaller regional firms.
Are there state-specific factors that affect accounting associate sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's accounting job market is heavily tied to its manufacturing, insurance, and healthcare industries, which means sponsorship demand tracks closely with those sectors' hiring cycles. The University of Wisconsin-Madison and Marquette University produce strong local accounting pipelines, so international candidates benefit from distinguishing themselves through credentials like a CPA license or progress toward CPA exam completion. Prevailing wage compliance is required for all H-1B filings, and Wisconsin's Department of Workforce Development publishes wage data that employers must reference when filing Labor Condition Applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting associate jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
