Which companies sponsor visas for DevOps engineers in Wisconsin?
Fiserv, Northwestern Mutual, and Epic Systems are among the most active H-1B sponsors for DevOps-related roles in Wisconsin, based on Department of Labor LCA disclosure data. Kohler, Johnson Controls, and Rockwell Automation also file regularly for infrastructure and cloud engineering positions. Wisconsin's financial services and healthcare IT sectors account for a significant share of sponsorship activity in this role category.
Which visa types are most common for DevOps roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for DevOps engineers in Wisconsin. DevOps roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT are often in the pipeline for H-1B sponsorship through employers who file annually. The O-1A is an option for candidates with exceptional technical credentials, though it requires substantial documentation.
How to find devops visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for DevOps roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role type to surface openings at Milwaukee and Madison employers who have an established history of H-1B filings for infrastructure, cloud, and CI/CD engineering positions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most DevOps sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee and Madison account for the majority of DevOps sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Milwaukee is home to major financial services and insurance employers like Fiserv and Northwestern Mutual, both of which sponsor regularly for cloud and platform engineering roles. Madison's concentration of healthcare IT companies, led by Epic Systems, also generates consistent DevOps demand. Smaller hiring activity exists in Green Bay and Waukesha for manufacturing-adjacent DevOps roles.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for DevOps visa sponsorship candidates?
Wisconsin's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are set at the metro-area level, so Milwaukee and Madison wages are calculated separately from rural areas. Employers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying they meet those benchmarks before sponsoring. The University of Wisconsin-Madison produces a steady pipeline of international computer science graduates who pursue OPT and H-1B sponsorship through in-state employers, which means competition for sponsored DevOps roles in Madison can be meaningful.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored devops jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
