Which companies sponsor visas for project management specialists in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's largest H-1B sponsors for project management roles include Kohler Co., Rockwell Automation, Kohl's Corporation, ManpowerGroup, and Epic Systems in Verona. Healthcare organizations such as Aurora Health Care and UW Health also sponsor project management specialists. Manufacturing and healthcare consistently produce the highest volume of certified Labor Condition Applications for this role category in the state.
Which visa types are most common for project management specialist roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project management specialists in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional category. Some multinationals in Wisconsin also use the L-1 visa for intracompany transferees moving into project management positions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most project management specialist sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee generates the largest share of project management specialist sponsorship opportunities in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare employers. Madison is a strong second, anchored by Epic Systems, the University of Wisconsin system, and state government contractors. Green Bay and Waukesha also have active sponsorship activity, particularly in manufacturing and supply chain-oriented project management roles.
How to find project management specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find project management specialist roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by state and role type to see current openings from Wisconsin employers actively hiring international candidates. This is particularly useful for H-1B holders and those on OPT who need confirmed sponsorship before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management specialists seeking sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers sponsoring H-1B project management specialists must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location, which varies between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller metro areas. The University of Wisconsin system and affiliated research institutions are cap-exempt H-1B employers, meaning they can file petitions year-round without waiting for the annual lottery. Candidates with PMP certification or engineering backgrounds tend to have stronger sponsorship prospects in Wisconsin's manufacturing-heavy market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management specialist jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
