Which companies sponsor visas for risk managers in Wisconsin?
Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, and Robert W. Baird are among the most active Milwaukee-based employers with histories of sponsoring skilled foreign workers in finance and risk functions. On the healthcare side, UW Health and Froedtert Health in Madison and Milwaukee respectively hire risk professionals and have sponsored H-1B visa workers. Large insurers headquartered in Wisconsin, including CUNA Mutual Group, also appear in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for risk-related roles.
Which visa types are most common for risk manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for risk managers in Wisconsin, given that the role typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with advanced degrees may also pursue the EB-2 immigrant visa over time. Australian citizens working in risk management have the additional option of the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is processed separately from H-1B caps.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most risk manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the clear center of risk manager hiring in Wisconsin, driven by its dense concentration of financial services firms, insurance companies, and regional banks. Madison is the second most active market, with risk roles emerging from the healthcare, biotech, and state government sectors, as well as the University of Wisconsin system. Green Bay and Appleton have smaller but present opportunities, mostly tied to regional insurance carriers and manufacturing firms with enterprise risk functions.
How to find risk manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search risk manager roles in Wisconsin without sifting through postings from employers who won't sponsor. The platform is built for international candidates, making it straightforward to identify Milwaukee and Madison employers actively hiring for risk functions and open to H-1B or other visa categories. Setting up alerts for Wisconsin risk manager postings on Migrate Mate keeps you current as new roles appear.
Are there state-specific considerations for risk managers seeking visa sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's strong insurance industry presence means risk manager roles here often fall under financial services or healthcare compliance functions, both of which have well-established precedents for H-1B specialty occupation approval. Employers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific role and metropolitan area, whether Milwaukee, Madison, or another metro. The University of Wisconsin system also produces a pipeline of international graduates who sometimes pursue risk management careers locally, and academic medical centers affiliated with UW Health are cap-exempt H-1B employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
