Key job responsibilities
We catch bad actors and stop online fraud. It’s fun! It’s hard! It matters! The ideal candidate should be passionate about using and understanding data to discover bad actor trends and help us ensure that customers make great purchase decisions and our selling partners using Amazon are successful listing and selling their products. Your decisions will help proactively identify risk and take direct, high confidence actions to protect Amazon customers, selling partners, and help maintain the overall health of Amazon's WW stores.

- Lead and support the team in responding to, investigating, managing and resolving high-impact incidents around product authenticity (counterfeit, trademark, copyright) and safety issues.
- Use high-level judgment to own complex investigations and enforcement decisions driven through data.
- Closely monitor media and global events to anticipate and mitigate potential risks. Be comfortable using data to analyze trends, predict and fix problems before they happen.
- Own and/or manage projects designed to improve operational and process efficiency.

Which companies sponsor visas for risk managers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, and Boeing are among the most active visa sponsors for risk managers in Washington, reflecting the state's technology and aerospace sectors. Major financial institutions with Pacific Northwest operations, including JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, also sponsor risk management roles. Larger employers with established immigration programs are generally more willing to initiate sponsorship than smaller firms.
Which visa types are most common for risk manager roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for risk managers in Washington, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as finance, statistics, or engineering. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may pursue the TN visa under the USMCA. Australians may qualify for the E-3. Managers with multinational experience sometimes transfer on an L-1A.
Which cities in Washington have the most risk manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of risk manager sponsorship jobs in Washington, given its density of technology companies, financial services firms, and healthcare systems. Bellevue and Redmond are strong secondary markets, particularly for roles tied to Microsoft and the broader tech sector. Tacoma sees demand from logistics and port-adjacent industries, while Spokane has a smaller but growing professional services market.
How to find risk manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters risk manager roles in Washington by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through positions that won't support a work visa. The platform surfaces employers in Seattle, Bellevue, and beyond who have a documented history of sponsoring international hires in risk and compliance functions. Filtering by role and state gives you a targeted, relevant list without the noise.
Are there state-specific factors that affect risk manager sponsorship in Washington?
Washington's technology sector creates strong demand for risk managers with backgrounds in cybersecurity risk, operational risk, and enterprise risk management, which can strengthen a candidate's specialty occupation case for H-1B purposes. The state has no income tax, which affects net compensation comparisons. Washington's university pipeline, including the University of Washington's business and applied math programs, also produces internationally educated candidates who pursue local sponsorship opportunities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored risk manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
