Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for technical project managers?
Milwaukee-based Fiserv and Rockwell Automation are among Wisconsin's most active H-1B sponsors for technical roles. Epic Systems in Verona has a strong track record of sponsoring international workers in technology positions. Kohl's, Northwestern Mutual, and Johnson Controls also appear in federal LCA disclosure data with technical project manager filings. Sponsorship availability varies by team, budget cycle, and headcount approvals.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical project managers in Wisconsin, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational transfers also move into technical PM roles, particularly at large employers like Rockwell Automation and Johnson Controls with global operations.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters technical project manager jobs specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search Wisconsin without sifting through roles that won't support international candidates. Focus your search on Milwaukee and Madison, where the highest concentration of sponsoring employers operates. Filtering by industry, such as fintech or health IT, helps narrow to sectors where Wisconsin employers have the strongest sponsorship track records.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for sponsored technical project manager roles, driven by its concentration of financial services and manufacturing technology firms. Madison follows closely, anchored by Epic Systems and a growing technology sector connected to the University of Wisconsin. The Fox Valley area around Appleton and Neenah also generates technical PM openings through industrial automation and paper-industry technology companies.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for technical project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Wisconsin technical project managers sponsored on H-1B visas must receive at least the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location, which varies between Milwaukee, Madison, and smaller metro areas. Epic Systems in Verona is notable for its campus-based hiring model and has pipelines from universities including UW-Madison. Employers in Wisconsin's manufacturing and health IT sectors tend to prefer candidates with domain experience in those industries, not just general project delivery backgrounds.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
