Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for technical project managers?
Several large Indiana employers have established H-1B sponsorship records for technical project manager roles. Eli Lilly, Salesforce (Indianapolis hub), Cummins, Anthem, and Rolls-Royce North America appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for this occupation. Consulting firms with Indiana offices, including Infosys and Cognizant, also sponsor technical project managers placed with local clients.
Which visa types are most common for technical project manager roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical project managers in Indiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems. Intracompany transferees at multinationals like Cummins or Rolls-Royce may use the L-1A or L-1B. Candidates with exceptional track records may explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documentation.
Which cities in Indiana have the most technical project manager sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of technical project manager sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of healthcare IT firms, fintech companies, and enterprise software employers. Fort Wayne offers opportunities in manufacturing technology and logistics. Bloomington sees some activity tied to Indiana University's tech ecosystem and affiliated startups, particularly for candidates transitioning from OPT.
How to find technical project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify technical project manager openings in Indiana without sorting through postings from employers unlikely to sponsor. You can search by role and state to surface positions at companies with active sponsorship histories in sectors like healthcare IT, manufacturing technology, and enterprise software concentrated around Indianapolis and Fort Wayne.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for technical project managers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Indiana's prevailing wage requirements for technical project managers are generally set at lower levels than coastal tech hubs, which can make sponsorship more accessible for employers here. The state's strong manufacturing and life sciences sectors mean many TPM roles are tied to operational and product delivery pipelines rather than pure software development, so candidates should align their experience framing accordingly when targeting Indiana employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical project manager jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
