Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Wyoming?
Federal contractors and energy companies are the most active sponsors for project program manager roles in Wyoming. Organizations tied to Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, energy firms like PacifiCorp, and infrastructure contractors working on Wyoming's pipeline and grid projects have filed H-1B petitions for program management positions. State government agencies and healthcare systems like Wyoming Medical Center also occasionally sponsor for senior program management roles.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Wyoming?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project program managers in Wyoming, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. L-1A visas apply for managers transferring from an international office of the same employer. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under the TN visa category using the management consultant classification, depending on the specific job duties.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Cheyenne leads Wyoming for project program manager sponsorship opportunities, driven by federal government contracts, IT infrastructure projects, and proximity to Warren Air Force Base. Casper follows, with energy sector program management roles tied to oil, gas, and renewable projects. Laramie occasionally has opportunities connected to the University of Wyoming and state-funded research or construction programs.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate aggregates visa sponsorship jobs specifically for international candidates, including project program manager roles filtered by state. Searching Wyoming on Migrate Mate lets you identify employers actively willing to sponsor, which is the most time-intensive part of the search. Given Wyoming's smaller job market, setting up alerts for Cheyenne and Casper and filtering for energy, federal contracting, and infrastructure industries will surface the most relevant openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for project program managers seeking sponsorship in Wyoming?
Wyoming's H-1B prevailing wage determinations are set by the Department of Labor using regional data, and the relatively lower cost of living means prevailing wages can differ significantly from coastal markets. The state's economy is heavily tied to energy and government contracting, so candidates with PMP certification and experience in infrastructure, oil and gas, or federal project environments are better positioned. The University of Wyoming in Laramie also generates some demand for academic program management roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
