Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Care Coordinator
Target healthcare systems with complex patient populations
Large hospital networks and health systems managing chronic care programs frequently sponsor care coordinators. These organizations have established immigration processes and demonstrate clear business need for specialized coordination roles.
Emphasize your clinical background in applications
Employers value care coordinators with nursing, social work, or healthcare administration backgrounds. Your clinical expertise strengthens the specialty occupation argument and demonstrates why the role requires your specific qualifications.
Consider managed care organizations and insurance companies
Health insurance companies, Medicare Advantage plans, and managed care organizations regularly sponsor care coordinators. These employers understand the regulatory requirements and have dedicated teams handling visa cases.
Highlight experience with care management software and protocols
Proficiency with electronic health records, care management platforms, and quality metrics demonstrates specialized knowledge. This technical expertise supports the argument that your role requires professional-level healthcare coordination skills.
Focus on population health and outcomes management roles
Positions involving chronic disease management, discharge planning, or quality improvement programs are more likely to qualify for sponsorship. These specialized functions require healthcare expertise beyond basic coordination tasks.
Network through professional healthcare associations
Join organizations like the Case Management Society of America or National Association of Healthcare Access Management. These groups connect you with employers who understand care coordination's professional requirements.

Find Care Coordinator JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does care coordinator qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B?
Yes, when the role requires a healthcare-related bachelor's degree and involves clinical decision-making or care management responsibilities. Generic coordinator positions without degree requirements may not qualify, but roles requiring nursing, social work, or healthcare administration backgrounds typically do.
What degree do I need for care coordinator visa sponsorship?
Most sponsored care coordinator positions require a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field. Some employers accept psychology or human services degrees with relevant healthcare experience. The degree must directly relate to care coordination responsibilities.
Which employers sponsor care coordinators most often?
Large healthcare systems, hospital networks, managed care organizations, and health insurance companies are the primary sponsors. Medicare Advantage plans, accountable care organizations, and healthcare consulting firms also frequently sponsor care coordinators, especially for complex patient population management roles.
How long does H-1B processing take for healthcare roles?
Standard H-1B processing takes 3-6 months, while premium processing guarantees a decision within 15 calendar days for an additional $2,805. Healthcare employers often use premium processing for care coordinator positions to meet patient care staffing needs and program implementation deadlines.
Can I get a green card as a care coordinator?
Yes, through EB-2 or EB-3 categories depending on your education and the role's requirements. Healthcare employers familiar with immigration often support green card applications. The process typically takes 1-3 years depending on your country of birth and the employer's willingness to sponsor permanent residency.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Care Coordinator jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
How to find Care Coordinator jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Care Coordinator positions with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsored roles. Focus on healthcare facilities, hospitals, aged care providers, and disability services organizations that commonly sponsor H-1B, TN, or employer-sponsored visas. These employers frequently need qualified Care Coordinators and are willing to support visa applications for the right candidates.
