Under the direction of the Manager of Float Pool, Clinical House, and unit-based licensed nursing staff, the Patient Safety Companion/ CO is utilized to sit with patients who are experiencing the following situations including but not limited to: suicide potential, potential to harm self or others, restless and or confused. The safety companion is to maintain continuous visual observation of the patient.
It is our policy to abide by all Federal and State laws, as well as, the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a), prohibiting discrimination against qualified individuals based on their status as protected veterans or individuals with disabilities, and prohibiting discrimination against all individuals based on their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
Job Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years or older
- All sitters must maintain yearly training requirements
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification
