Job Summary

Job Purpose

The VP, IT Platform Engineering is a senior leadership role within Live Nation's Global IT department, responsible for the enterprise-wide IT infrastructure engineering including our cloud-based compute, storage, network, security, and identity and access management capabilities, along with the strategic management of related technology contracts, licensing, and third-party relationships.

Reporting to the SVP, Global IT Operations, this role is a strategic leadership position, accountable for delivering key initiatives critical to improving the quality, reliability and security of our infrastructure engineering function, building new teams and capabilities, and improving the pace of infrastructure delivery.

This role is also responsible for the management of a global Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, maturing cloud engineering and cloud application support capabilities, developing network engineering architecture, and driving disciplined, cost-effective management of the enterprise's technology contracts and vendor ecosystem.

This role is ideally based in LA with hybrid work at our offices in Beverly Hills, CA, but remote candidates open to frequent travel will be considered.

Role Description

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global IT engineering capability improvement roadmap that aligns with Live Nation's business objectives and incorporates disaster recovery & business continuity goals.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and prioritize technology initiatives that drive growth and efficiency.
• Envision and implement AI-native practices and tools to drive effectiveness and delivery throughput.
• Implement frameworks and ways of working to ensure regulatory compliance across all technology domains.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and other metrics to track performance.
• Own budget management for the function, including forecasting, cost optimization, vendor spend, and capital expenditure planning across security, cloud, and third-party contracts.

IT Security Engineering & Identity and Access Management (IAM)

• Own the enterprise IT Security Engineering function, setting technical direction, standards, and roadmap for IT security tooling and architecture across the organization.
• Lead the global Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, hiring and developing talent, and managing the operating model, processes, and governance for identity, authentication, and access control, in partnership with global Cyber Security team.
• Manage the IAM technology stack (e.g., SSO, MFA, privileged access management, identity governance) across the enterprise, ensuring secure, scalable, and audit-ready access management practices.
• Define and implement security engineering processes covering vulnerability management, secure architecture review, threat detection engineering, and security tooling integration.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Data Privacy and Legal teams to ensure IAM and security engineering practices meet regulatory, audit, and data protection requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement of the organization's security posture, working closely with SOC/security operations, engineering, and infrastructure teams to reduce risk and close gaps.

Cloud Engineering

• Lead the Cloud Engineering function, setting architecture standards, governance, and best practices for cloud infrastructure across the enterprise's cloud environments.
• Oversee Cloud-based Third-Party SaaS Application Implementation, Integration & Escalated Support, ensuring reliable, secure, and well-supported operation of business-critical cloud-hosted applications, with clear escalation paths and service level accountability.
• Drive cloud engineering roadmap decisions including automation, infrastructure-as-code, cost optimization (FinOps), scalability, and resilience of cloud platforms.
• Ensure security engineering and IAM practices are embedded into cloud engineering design and operations from the outset (secure-by-design).
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure cloud engineering and support practices align with broader enterprise technology strategy.

Enterprise Networking Engineering Architecture

• Own the end-to-end architecture and technical standards for the enterprise's global network estate, ensuring consistent, compliant, scalable design across cloud, and office (incl. international venue) locations.
• Lead the technical design of network integrations for M&A activity, ensuring acquired businesses are architected into the global network in line with corporate standards.
• Embed security-by-design principles (segmentation, Zero Trust, encryption) into all network architecture decisions, partnering closely with Security and Infrastructure teams.
• Drive the network technology roadmap, including automation, infrastructure-as-code, and resilience/capacity planning, to reduce risk and manual effort across global operations.

General Leadership, Governance & Business Enablement

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team across security engineering, IAM, cloud engineering, and vendor/contract management disciplines, with a strong focus on coaching, mentoring, and career development.
• Own enterprise-level contract management for technology agreements, including negotiation support, renewals, terms review, and lifecycle management in partnership with Legal and Procurement.
• Own enterprise-level relationships with strategic third-party technology vendors and partners, serving as the senior point of contact for escalations, commercial discussions, and roadmap alignment.
• Drive efficiency, innovation, and modernization through the adoption of AI and automation across security engineering, cloud operations, and service delivery.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

• Significant senior IT leadership experience, with a demonstrable track record across cloud engineering, security engineering, & identity and access management.
• Prior experience at an equivalent level, leading technical teams within a complex enterprise IT environment.
• Proven experience building new teams, processes, and technology capability from the ground up, ideally in an IAM or security engineering context.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and SaaS applications integration, operations and support.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level technology contracts, software licensing, and vendor/third-party relationships.
• Sound commercial acumen with experience managing sizeable technology budgets and vendor spend.
• Deep understanding of IT security, identity governance, and regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., data protection, cybersecurity frameworks).

Desirable

• Experience working within a de-centralized IT organization.
• CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, or equivalent professional certifications.
• MBA or equivalent business qualification.
• Experience working within a large, publicly listed organization.

The expected compensation for this position is:

$243,000.00 USD - $304,000.00 USD
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
