Power Apps Developer Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Power Apps Developer roles attract H-1B visa sponsorship from large enterprises and consulting firms, but your degree field matters more than most candidates expect. R Systems International's AI Strategy, Transformation, and Client Success function is seeking a skilled Power Platform expert to design and build a suite of custom product management, quality assurance, and testing tools. You will be responsible for creating the infrastructure — including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI — that allows our researchers to validate AI models, track performance metrics, and automate quality assurance workflows in high-velocity programs. The ideal candidate also possesses fluency in Copilot Studio and call center application development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and build custom Power Apps solutions for product management, QA tracking, and AI model validation workflows.
- Develop Power Automate flows to automate repetitive QA and operational processes across high-velocity AI programs.
- Create Power BI dashboards to visualize AI model performance metrics, adoption trends, and quality assurance KPIs.
- Build and configure Copilot Studio solutions, including call center-integrated virtual agents and automation flows.
- Collaborate with AI Evaluation, Data Science, and Program Management teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions rapidly.
- Maintain and iterate on Power Platform solutions as product and process needs evolve.
- Document Power Platform architecture, data flows, and user guides.
- Demonstrate portfolio-level competency and deliver working prototypes to validate solution design.

Technical Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps (canvas apps and model-driven apps).
- Proficiency in Power Automate for workflow and process automation.
- Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
- Fluency in Copilot Studio: building virtual agents, call center integrations, and knowledge-base-driven bots.
- Understanding of Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint integrations, and Power Platform connectors.
- Ability to present a portfolio of prior Power Platform work demonstrating solution design and delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in QA, AI model testing, or research workflow tooling.

Target consulting firms and system integrators
Accenture, Cognizant, and similar firms sponsor Power Apps Developers at high volume because they staff client projects continuously. These employers have established H-1B processes and legal teams, making sponsorship more predictable than smaller companies.
Document your Power Platform certifications
Microsoft PL-400 and PL-200 certifications signal specialized expertise that strengthens an H-1B specialty occupation argument. USCIS looks for evidence that the role requires specific theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge.
Clarify your degree field early
A computer science, information systems, or software engineering degree aligns cleanly with Power Apps roles. If your degree is in a different field, gather work experience documentation early, since three years of relevant experience can substitute for one year of education.
Ask about cap-exempt sponsorship if you have F-1 OPT
Employers affiliated with universities or nonprofit research organizations can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery. If your OPT is expiring, ask prospective employers whether they qualify as cap-exempt before ruling out sponsorship options.
Emphasize integration complexity in your portfolio
USCIS scrutinizes whether Power Apps roles require a degree or just general IT skills. Projects involving Dataverse, Azure integrations, and complex business logic demonstrate the specialized knowledge that supports a strong specialty occupation petition.
Confirm the employer has sponsored before
Employers with prior H-1B approval history for similar roles face fewer USCIS requests for evidence. When evaluating offers, ask how many H-1B petitions the company has filed for Power Platform or developer roles in recent years.

Does a Power Apps Developer role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B?
Generally yes, but the petition needs to show the position specifically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Generic IT roles where any bachelor's degree qualifies regardless of field have faced USCIS denials. Roles involving Dataverse architecture, Azure integration, and custom connector development are stronger candidates than basic form-building positions.
What degree do I need for an employer to sponsor my H-1B as a Power Apps Developer?
Computer science, information systems, software engineering, or management information systems are the strongest fits. If your degree is in a different field, immigration counsel will typically build a specialty occupation argument using a combination of your coursework and work history. A three-year Australian or Indian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for H-1B purposes.
How likely is my H-1B petition to be approved as a Power Apps Developer?
Approval depends heavily on how the role is framed in the Labor Condition Application and I-129 petition. Roles with detailed job duties tied to specialized Power Platform architecture and integration work have stronger approval records than roles described broadly as low-code development. Employers with prior approvals for similar Power Platform titles have a meaningful advantage in avoiding Requests for Evidence.
Can I find Power Apps Developer jobs that sponsor visas on Migrate Mate?
Yes. Migrate Mate filters for employers actively willing to sponsor work visas, so you're not wasting time applying to companies that won't file an H-1B or other petition. You can browse Power Apps Developer roles directly and see sponsorship details before you apply, which matters a lot when your visa timeline is tight.
Can a Power Apps Developer role support an O-1A visa instead of H-1B?
Potentially, but O-1A requires demonstrated extraordinary ability, which is a high bar for most mid-level Power Apps roles. Developers who have led enterprise-scale implementations, presented at major Microsoft conferences like Power Platform World Tour, published recognized technical work, or received industry awards have a more credible O-1A case. Most Power Apps Developers will find H-1B or, for Australians, the E-3 visa a more realistic path.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Power Apps Developer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
