Target rehabilitation hospitals and specialized clinics
Large rehabilitation centers, stroke recovery facilities, and specialty orthopedic clinics are more likely to sponsor visas than small private practices or general hospitals.
Highlight any healthcare certifications or specialized training
CPR certification, medical terminology training, or experience with specific rehabilitation equipment can differentiate you from other candidates seeking sponsorship.
Consider starting with TN visa if you're Canadian or Mexican
The TN category includes 'Scientific Technician' which may cover rehabilitation aide roles with appropriate education and employer documentation of duties.
Focus on employers with established immigration programs
Hospital systems and healthcare networks that already sponsor nurses or therapists are more familiar with the visa process for support staff.
Emphasize bilingual skills if applicable
Healthcare facilities serving diverse populations often value rehabilitation aides who can communicate with patients in multiple languages, strengthening your sponsorship case.
Apply to positions in underserved areas
Rural hospitals and rehabilitation centers in areas with healthcare shortages may be more willing to sponsor international workers to fill critical support roles.

Find Rehabilitation Services Aide JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do rehabilitation services aide positions qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Most rehabilitation aide roles don't qualify for H-1B because they typically require only a high school diploma or certificate. However, positions requiring a bachelor's degree in health sciences, kinesiology, or rehabilitation studies may qualify. The role must specifically require the degree, not just prefer it.
What degree do I need for visa sponsorship as a rehabilitation services aide?
For H-1B eligibility, you need a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the position, such as health sciences, kinesiology, exercise science, or rehabilitation studies. Some employers may accept degrees in psychology or social work if the role involves patient interaction and counseling components.
Which healthcare employers are most likely to sponsor rehabilitation aides?
Large rehabilitation hospitals, academic medical centers, and multi-facility healthcare systems are most likely to sponsor. These employers have established immigration programs and legal resources. Specialty facilities like spinal cord injury centers or stroke rehabilitation hospitals often need specialized support staff.
Can I get sponsored if I only have a rehabilitation technician certificate?
Certificate programs alone typically don't qualify for H-1B sponsorship, which requires a bachelor's degree. However, you might qualify for other visa categories like TN (for Canadians/Mexicans) under 'Scientific Technician' if your duties involve technical healthcare support and you have appropriate education.
What are approval rates like for rehabilitation aide H-1B petitions?
USCIS doesn't publish approval rates by specific job title, but healthcare support roles face scrutiny over degree requirements. Success depends on the employer clearly documenting why a bachelor's degree is required for the specific position and how your education directly relates to the job duties.
How to find Rehabilitation Services Aide jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Rehabilitation Services Aide jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus on healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and long-term care facilities that commonly sponsor H-1B, TN, or other work visas. These employers often have ongoing staffing needs and established visa sponsorship programs for healthcare support roles.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Rehabilitation Services Aide jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
