Position Summary
The Truck Washer is responsible for using powered cleaning equipment to remove any dirty matter adhered to the outside of company vehicles and ensuring the inside of vehicles are clean and safe for operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates power washers and other cleaning equipment to remove dust, grease, dirt, and oil from exterior surfaces of company vehicles to ensure they are visually ready to operate on routes.
- Removes trash from interior and cleans floors, seats and other surfaces using cleaning agents and applicators.
- Replenishes sanitary supplies in vehicle compartments to ensure accessibility to drivers when out on a route.
- Removes dust, grease, and oil from exterior surfaces of vehicles to ensure trucks are visually ready to be on the streets.
- Maintains a log of vehicles that have been cleaned and any mechanical issues that were found during the cleaning.
- Visually inspects the vehicle for any leaks or mechanical issues and reports concerns to the diesel technicians to ensure equipment is ready for proper operation.
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the physical ability to lift 25-50 lbs. several times throughout the day and walk, lift, bend, and climb stairs and ladders frequently. An ability to work under various weather conditions is expected. Good verbal and written communication skills are needed. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive the trucks in and out of the shop. Although it is not required, a valid CDL license is preferred.
