Target insurance companies with established sponsorship programs
Large insurers like State Farm, Allstate, and Liberty Mutual regularly sponsor visas for specialized roles. Check their H-1B filing history on DOL disclosure data to identify active sponsors in your target markets.
Emphasize analytical and investigative skills in applications
Claims adjustment requires specialized knowledge of medical terminology, legal regulations, and fraud detection. Highlight certifications like AIC or CPCU to demonstrate professional expertise employers value for sponsorship.
Consider third-party administrators and consulting firms
TPAs like Sedgwick, Crawford, and Gallagher Bassett often need adjusters with specific expertise. These firms frequently sponsor visas for candidates with niche skills in complex claims or regulatory compliance.
Highlight experience with state-specific workers comp laws
Each state has unique workers compensation regulations. Demonstrating knowledge of multiple state systems or willingness to learn specific jurisdictions makes you more valuable to multi-state insurance operations seeking sponsored talent.
Pursue relevant certifications before applying
Industry credentials like Associate in Claims (AIC) or Certified Professional in Workers Compensation (CPWC) strengthen visa applications by proving specialized knowledge that supports the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B petitions.
Focus on complex claims specialization
Adjusters handling catastrophic injuries, fraud investigations, or litigation support command higher sponsorship priority. Develop expertise in medical case management or legal coordination to differentiate yourself from general adjusters.

Find Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do workers compensation claims adjusters qualify for H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, when the position requires specialized knowledge of insurance regulations, medical terminology, and analytical skills. Employers must demonstrate the role needs a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field. Claims adjusters with industry certifications and complex case experience have stronger specialty occupation arguments for USCIS approval.
What degree do I need for visa sponsorship as a claims adjuster?
Most sponsored positions require a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related field. Some employers accept degrees in criminal justice or pre-law for fraud investigation roles. Relevant certifications like AIC or CPCU can strengthen applications, but rarely substitute for the degree requirement in H-1B petitions.
Which insurance companies sponsor visas for claims adjusters?
Major insurers like State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, and Travelers have sponsored H-1B visas for specialized adjuster roles. Third-party administrators like Sedgwick and Crawford also sponsor visas. Check DOL disclosure data for recent LCA filings to identify active sponsors in your target geographic area.
How to find Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to search specialized opportunities. Focus on insurance companies, third-party administrators, and self-insured corporations that commonly sponsor H-1B visas for claims professionals. These employers value candidates with insurance knowledge, analytical skills, and relevant certifications in workers compensation claims management.
Can Australians get E-3 visas for claims adjuster positions?
Yes, Australian citizens can qualify for E-3 visas as claims adjusters when the role meets specialty occupation requirements. The position must require specialized knowledge of insurance law, medical evaluation, or fraud investigation that typically requires a bachelor's degree. E-3 applications face less competition than H-1B but need the same specialty occupation documentation.
What's the approval rate for claims adjuster visa applications?
USCIS doesn't publish occupation-specific approval rates, but business and finance roles generally see 60-70% H-1B approval rates. Claims adjuster petitions strengthen with industry certifications, complex case experience, and clear documentation of specialized knowledge requirements. Employers citing specific regulatory expertise and analytical skills improve approval odds significantly.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
