Entry Level Account Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level account director job?
Focus on demonstrating client-facing instincts and organizational skills rather than years of experience. Employers at this level look for candidates who can manage timelines, communicate clearly with clients, and support senior account leads. Internship experience in marketing, advertising, or client services gives a strong edge, and a portfolio showing campaign coordination or client communication work can set you apart from other applicants.
Which companies hire entry level account directors?
Companies hiring entry level account directors right now include Qualys, Avalere Health, and Tata Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from advertising agencies, marketing consultancies, media companies, and brand-side teams that build out junior account talent from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level account director jobs?
Yes, though many postings are hybrid rather than fully remote. About 60% of entry level account director openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how agencies and marketing teams have adapted their staffing models. Candidates open to hybrid arrangements will find the widest range of opportunities at this stage.
Are these new grad account director jobs?
Yes, many of these postings are new grad and junior roles that welcome recent graduates and candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically says it welcomes zero to two years of experience, considers internships or academic project work, or asks for a portfolio instead of a lengthy employment history. These are the openings worth prioritizing when you are just starting out.
Which industries hire the most entry level account directors?
Entry Level account director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Cybersecurity, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they run high volumes of client accounts and need junior talent to support relationship management, campaign execution, and day-to-day client communication.
