About the Role
As a Senior Account Director, you will manage and grow client relationships while leading multi-faceted marketing and digital strategies, coordinating collaboration and solutions between our public relations, media, martech, technology and experience design departments. You’ll go beyond delivering meaningful work on time and on budget to strategize with clients on macro business challenges, asking the right questions to develop recommendations and integrated solutions that meet their needs. You’ll identify and drive growth opportunities, fostering innovative thinking that delivers on our clients’ business goals. Our Sr. Account Directors have significant agency experience and a strong understanding of marketing strategies, lead by example, are highly collaborative, and are self-starters.
The Details of the Senior Account Director Role
- Responsible for account health, retention and growth, overall engagement delivery and commercial outcomes; acts as voice of the client for internal teams
- Proactively build client relationships at the right levels across the organization; identify and address potential blockers
- Consult on client business challenges with a deep understanding of marketing, industry trends and economic factors;
- Develop clear and thoughtful account and business-building strategies that address client challenges and opportunities, meet client objectives and create growth opportunities for both clients and the agency
- Manage the delivery lifecycle: resourcing, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and handoffs; ensure we’re delivering exceptional work and results that are aligned with client business goals; drive cross-capability coordination among agency departments and synthesize disparate discipline inputs into coherent POVs for clients when needed
- Lead account and campaign planning, client strategy meetings and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) in collaboration with appropriate agency departments, identifying gaps, opportunities and solutions in order to continuously drive accounts forward.
- Manage account budgeting, revenue tracking and profitability initiatives to ensure team and agency success.
- Lead account organic growth plans. Build thoughtful proposals for clients and pitch them; define SOWs, timelines and budgets for a variety of programs.
- Support company marketing and the creation and presentation of new business proposals as needed.
Skillset Needed:
- Ability to autonomously lead accounts / account teams, build strong rapport with clients, and deliver high quality work with minimal oversight.
- Strong experience crafting and executing national and global marketing and digital campaigns with excellent results; leading team and client planning sessions; and communicating with executive stakeholders.
- Display powerful presentation skills that invite participation and effect desired outcomes.
- Can lead cross-capability teams to deliver creative thinking and powerful ideas that meet client objectives. Uses analysis to drive decisions (as opposed to taking orders) in a way that yields sustained, measurable results.
- Deeply understands clients’ businesses at both strategic and tactical levels and delivers counsel rooted in business context, trends and data.
- Excellent client retention and growth rates in your previous roles.
- Consistently applies new approaches, tools, technology or methodologies to solve problems or deliver better results; proactively leverages AI-powered tools such as Claude, Gemini and/or ChatGPT to drive efficiencies and strong work output
