Account Executive Jobs in Richmond: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an account executive job in Richmond?
The strongest path into an account executive role in Richmond runs through the city's technology, financial services, and healthcare sectors, which generate the most consistent hiring. Roles concentrate in the Downtown office corridor, the Short Pump business parks in the West End, and the Scott's Addition district. Candidates who can demonstrate a history of quota attainment and show familiarity with Richmond's mid-market and regional enterprise buyer base stand out most with local hiring managers.
Which companies hire account executives in Richmond?
Companies currently hiring account executives in Richmond include ADP, Cyera, and Tenna, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Richmond's mix of regional banks, health systems, SaaS companies, and insurance firms means account executive openings come from both large headquartered employers and fast-growing mid-size organizations with local sales operations.
Are there remote account executive jobs in Richmond?
Yes, though account executive roles are more often hybrid than fully remote since client-facing work and territory management typically require in-person presence. About 100% of account executive openings tied to Richmond are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with full flexibility most common in software and SaaS sales rather than financial services or healthcare accounts based in the region.
How can I get an account executive job in Richmond with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Richmond is a sales development representative or business development representative role, particularly at one of the city's growing technology or insurance companies. Employers in the Short Pump corridor and Scott's Addition routinely hire entry-level reps and promote from within. Candidates who build familiarity with CRM tools, complete SDR rotations, and develop knowledge of Richmond's mid-market business community move into account executive seats faster than those pursuing direct applications.
Which industries hire the most account executives in Richmond?
Most account executive openings in Richmond sit in Technology & Software and Accounting & Auditing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Richmond's position as a regional headquarters hub for financial services and a growing technology and healthcare corridor makes those sectors the most consistent sources of account executive demand across the metro area.
