Account Manager Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a account manager job in Indianapolis?
The strongest path into Indianapolis account management runs through its three dominant sectors: healthcare and life sciences, logistics and distribution, and B2B technology services. Roles concentrate along the North Meridian corridor, Keystone at the Crossing, and the Downtown Mile Square. Candidates who come in with CRM experience and a demonstrated book of client relationships get callbacks faster than those without, because Indianapolis employers tend to promote from the sales floor rather than hire externally at senior levels.
Which companies hire account managers in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring account managers in Indianapolis right now include State Farm, CNH Industrial, and Spot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis draws a broad mix of regional healthcare systems, national insurance carriers, third-party logistics firms, and mid-market SaaS companies, all of which carry steady account management headcount.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the role: account managers in SaaS, insurance, and inside sales often work remotely, while those in healthcare systems or field-based logistics tend to be on-site. About 63% of account manager openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the highest concentration of fully remote listings coming from technology and insurance employers headquartered outside Indiana but hiring locally based reps.
How can I get a account manager job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is a sales development representative or customer success coordinator role, particularly at one of the city's many mid-market SaaS companies or regional insurance carriers on the north side. From there, internal promotion to account manager typically follows within 12 to 18 months. Familiarity with Salesforce and a willingness to work a defined territory give entry-level candidates a measurable edge over the local applicant pool.
Which industries hire the most account managers in Indianapolis?
The sectors hiring the most account managers in Indianapolis are Insurance, Consulting & Professional Services, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis's position as a national hub for healthcare, a growing logistics corridor, and an expanding technology services cluster means those three categories consistently generate the highest account management volume in the metro.
