Relationship Manager – Bookkeeping & Advisory (Part-time, ~25–30 hrs/week)

Pay: $30,000–$36,000 a year for a 25–30 hour week, plus $50/month for every client added to your book and 10% commission on new business you bring in for the first 12 months. W-2, semi-monthly pay.

About the role
As a Relationship Manager at ProfitPro, you build trusted relationships with a book of about 15 small-business owners and connect what their books say to practical financial guidance. You assess each client’s needs, explain financial concepts clearly, and help them make better decisions. The transaction work is done by our back-office team; you review it, catch what’s wrong, and run the monthly and quarterly review meetings. You’re the person the client calls.

This isn’t a sales role. Your book grows two ways: clients the firm brings in and assigns to you, and, over time, relationships you build on your own. Either way, every client added to your book adds $50 a month to your base, and anything you bring in yourself also pays 10% commission on the first year’s fees.

Who does well here

• A bookkeeper who keeps drifting toward advisory and wants to be in the meeting, not just behind the ledger
• A former banker or lender with hands-on QuickBooks Online who misses talking to business owners
• A retired CFO or controller who wants to keep their mind sharp and make a difference in a small business owner’s life
• Someone who left the corporate world or B2B sales and misses working with small business owners
• Someone who reads a P&L and balance sheet the way other people read a menu, and can say in plain English why the cash doesn’t match the profit
• Comfortable with technology. We run QuickBooks Online, Financial Cents, Fellow, Microsoft 365, Gusto and a growing set of AI tools. You don’t need to love them, but you can’t be afraid of them.

What you’ll do

• Manage client relationships and communication, with responsive service and accurate, current records in Financial Cents
• Review each client’s monthly close from the back office and sign off before it goes to the client
• Review financial statements and cash flow, and lead monthly and quarterly review meetings with a one-page summary
• Answer client questions on their books, and know when to bring in the CPA
• Spot problems before the owner does: cash, margins, pricing, owner draws
• Grow each relationship: notice where a client could use more from us, and bring it to the owner
• Over time, build relationships with CPAs, bankers and owners that bring clients your way

What you bring

• 3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience, full-cycle bookkeeping through financial statements
• Experience managing client relationships in a finance, banking or bookkeeping role
• You can walk an owner through a P&L and balance sheet and hold the conversation
• Organized, deadline-driven, writes a clear email
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus; if you don’t have it, we’ll get you certified in your first 60 days
• Knowledge of payroll systems such as Gusto, Paychex Flex or ADP Run is a plus
• Sales tax or S-corp experience is a plus, not required
