Accounting Manager Jobs in Cincinnati: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a accounting manager job in Cincinnati?
Your strongest path in Cincinnati is targeting its three dominant hiring sectors: healthcare systems, consumer packaged goods companies, and regional financial services firms. Jobs cluster in the Central Business District, Blue Ash, and the northern suburbs along the I-71 corridor. Candidates who stand out locally hold a CPA alongside hands-on experience with month-end close, consolidations, or cost accounting, since Cincinnati employers lean heavily on technical accounting depth over generalist management skills.
Which companies hire accounting managers in Cincinnati?
Employers hiring accounting managers in Cincinnati right now include Levy, Kroger, and 3CDC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Cincinnati's market is especially active among large consumer brands, regional banks, and multi-site healthcare networks, all of which maintain sizable in-house accounting teams with regular openings at the manager level.
Are there remote accounting manager jobs in Cincinnati?
Yes, though accounting manager roles are moderately remote-friendly since the position typically requires supervising staff and coordinating with local finance leadership in person. About 12% of accounting manager openings tied to Cincinnati are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The tasks most commonly done remotely in Cincinnati include financial reporting, reconciliations, and systems work, while team oversight and month-end close coordination typically remain on-site.
How can I get a accounting manager job in Cincinnati with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Cincinnati is moving up from a senior accountant role within one of the city's large healthcare systems or consumer goods companies, which tend to promote internally and run structured development programs. Targeting assistant controller or accounting supervisor titles at mid-size regional manufacturers in the Greater Cincinnati area also builds the supervisory experience hiring managers expect. A CPA in progress combined with demonstrated close-cycle ownership gives early-career candidates a clear competitive edge locally.
Which industries hire the most accounting managers in Cincinnati?
Most accounting manager openings in Cincinnati sit in Retail, Accounting & Auditing, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Cincinnati's concentration of Fortune 500 consumer brands, a sprawling regional healthcare sector, and a long-established financial services community creates consistent, recurring demand for accounting managers across all three areas.
