Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers typically value certifications like the Certified Analytics Professional or vendor credentials from Microsoft or Google, along with a portfolio of projects demonstrating applied analytical work in industries prominent in Texas.
How much do analytics consultants make in Texas?
Analytics consultants in Texas earn a median of about $122,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,540 for the lowest 10% to over $170,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire analytics consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring analytics consultants in Texas right now include Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Boston Consulting, and Analytic Partners, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy firms, and large healthcare systems means demand for analytics consultants is distributed across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most analytics consultant jobs?
Dallas, Irving, and Plano have the most analytics consultant openings in Texas. Houston's energy sector and large medical center complex drive consistent demand, while Dallas benefits from its dense concentration of financial services firms and corporate headquarters, and Austin's technology industry adds a steady pipeline of analytics roles at both established companies and growth-stage firms.
Are there remote analytics consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 13% of analytics consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and data-driven nature of the work. Strategy and reporting-focused roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while embedded client-site engagements or roles requiring access to proprietary systems on-premises are more likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a analytics consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an analyst or junior consultant role at a large professional services firm with a Texas office, where structured analyst programs at firms like Deloitte, KPMG, or Accenture provide formal training. Lateral moves from roles like business analyst, data analyst, or financial analyst at Texas-based healthcare systems or energy companies are also common. Building a project portfolio and earning an entry-level credential such as the Google Data Analytics Certificate strengthens candidacy for these positions.
