Analytics Consultant Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a analytics consultant in New York?
Analytics consulting in New York has no state-issued license requirement, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skill. Most employers in New York expect at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, economics, or computer science, with a master's degree preferred at consulting firms and large financial institutions. Building a portfolio of data projects and earning vendor-recognized credentials in tools like Tableau or cloud analytics platforms strengthens candidacy considerably in the New York market.
How much do analytics consultants make in New York?
Analytics consultants in New York earn a median of about $130,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,330 for the lowest 10% to over $214,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire analytics consultants in New York?
Employers hiring analytics consultants in New York right now include EY, Capgemini, and Boston Consulting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of financial institutions, major media companies, and global consulting firm offices means demand is distributed across sectors rather than dominated by a single industry.
Which New York cities have the most analytics consultant jobs?
New York, Atlanta, and Brooklyn have the most analytics consultant openings in New York. New York City generates the large majority of postings given its density of financial services headquarters, consulting firm offices, and technology and media companies, while secondary markets like White Plains and Albany reflect state government agencies and regional corporate operations that maintain their own analytics teams.
Are there remote analytics consultant jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 43% of analytics consultant openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and collaborative nature of the work. The roles most likely to stay fully remote are those focused on data modeling, reporting, and strategy work, while engagements requiring on-site client workshops or embedded team presence in financial services more often specify hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a analytics consultant in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business analyst or data analyst role at a large New York employer, then moving laterally into consulting work once you have project experience. Firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and KPMG run structured analyst programs in their New York offices that accept recent graduates with strong quantitative coursework. A portfolio of independent data projects, a Tableau or Power BI certification, and familiarity with financial or healthcare data all give candidates a clear edge when applying without prior consulting titles.
Where can I find and apply to analytics consultant jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to analytics consultant jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to each one.
