Entry Level Antenna Engineer Jobs

INTRODUCTION

The Antenna RF Test Engineer will be responsible for testing/characterizing various phased array antenna/RF modules and systems for satellite communication user terminals development. An ideal candidate should have basic understanding on principles of microwave, RF, and antenna theory. The candidate should also have hands-on experience of benchtop RF and electrical instruments. This engineer shall have strong documentation skills to prepare test plans and organize test reports from the lab works.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be responsible for testing and characterizing prototypes and products of antenna and RF modules in satellite communication user terminals. The main responsibilities include the following:

• Draft test plans per the hardware design requirements.
• Setup RF measurement instruments and DUT for test processes.
• Setup antenna ranges (indoor and outdoor) and DUT per the test plan.
• Conduct rigorous test steps, post-processing of raw data and organize data for design verification reviews.
• Manage and maintain the RF test instruments, CATR, NFS and other facilities in the RF/antenna lab.
• Communicate with instrument vendors to get required supports.
• Interact with design engineers to proceed test cases and debug tasks.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers for test fixture designs and fabrication.
• Present test reports with detail explanation on test results.
• Maintaining organization and tidiness of lab space and work stations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS or MS degrees in Electrical Engineering with RF and microwave courses.
- 2 years of experience on a electrical and RF test bench.
- Basic knowledge of microwave and antenna principles.
- Hands-on experience of using electrical test bench tools, including solder irons, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.
- Hands-on experience of using RF test equipment, including signal generator, spectral analyzer, vector network analyzer, etc.
- Strong documentation skills with Microsoft Office to organize test plans and reports.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs (e.g., equipment, test fixtures, etc).
- Ability to move within an office, lab, or manufacturing environment as needed.
