Entry Level Mechatronics Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level mechatronics technician job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, pneumatics, or automated assembly systems, even from coursework or internships. A portfolio of lab projects, a mechatronics or electromechanical degree, and any industry certifications like FANUC or OSHA 10 give candidates a clear edge. Applying to manufacturers running apprenticeship or rotational programs is a strong starting point.
Which companies hire entry level mechatronics technicians?

At this level, hiring tends to come from manufacturers, automation integrators, and industrial equipment companies that train technicians on the job and promote from within.
Are there remote entry level mechatronics technician jobs?
Yes, though most mechatronics roles require hands-on equipment access. About 0% of entry level mechatronics technician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be technical support, documentation, or testing roles rather than floor-level maintenance positions. On-site remains the norm for this occupation at the entry level.
Are these new grad mechatronics technician jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior mechatronics technician roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, co-op rotations, or a strong project portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for language like "no experience required," "training provided," or "entry level welcome" in the job description.
