Entry Level Facilities Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level facilities engineer job?
Focus on hands-on experience from internships, co-ops, or campus facility projects, and highlight any exposure to preventive maintenance, HVAC systems, or building management software. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and a working knowledge of AutoCAD or CMMS platforms gives entry level candidates a real edge. Certifications like OSHA 10 or an EIT designation help your application stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level facilities engineers?
Companies hiring entry level facilities engineers right now include Walmart, Oracle, and Equinix, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospitals, universities, commercial real estate firms, and large manufacturers are among the most consistent employers at this level, since they maintain large physical campuses that require dedicated facilities staff.
Are there remote entry level facilities engineer jobs?
Yes, though fully remote roles are less common in this field since most facilities work is hands-on and site-based. About 1% of entry level facilities engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on documentation, vendor coordination, or facilities management software rather than on-site maintenance work.
Are these new grad facilities engineer jobs?
Yes, this page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior facilities engineer roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly listing typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and treats internship rotations, senior design projects, or relevant coursework as qualifying background, so you do not need prior full-time employment to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level facilities engineers?
Entry Level facilities engineer roles concentrate in Retail, Technology & Software, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to operate large, regulated physical environments with ongoing infrastructure needs, which creates steady demand for junior engineers who can support maintenance schedules, safety compliance, and capital improvement projects.
