Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Application Specialist utilizes a deep understanding of financial institution operations and online banking system configurations partnered with a commitment to enhancing system efficiency and user experience to manage and maintain the organization's core banking system, origination system and online banking system to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and functionality.
- Leverage understanding of core systems and origination processes to drive efficiencies
- Configure, maintain, and update systems to align with operational and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members on core system functionality and workflows
- Develop and deliver training materials to enhance user knowledge and proficiency
- Analyze current processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement within the core system
- Collaborate with departments to develop and implement efficient solutions
- Assist in automating manual tasks and integrating third-party systems
- Test new features, updates, and patches before deployment to ensure compatibility and functionality
- Participate in system-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and conversions
- Develop project timelines, communicate progress, and manage deliverables to meet deadlines
- Ensure the core system Proficiency in banking software (e.g., Fiserv, FIS, Meridian Link, Candescent, or similar systems)
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Business or equivalent field experience preferred
- 2+ years of credit union or banking experience
- Experience with system troubleshooting and project management
- Experience working within origination processes
- Knowledge of API integrations and system interfaces
- Strong understanding of financial institution operations and regulatory requirements
- Solid working knowledge of core systems and origination process within the credit union
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to handle after-hours support for training or system upgrades may be required
- Self-driven, motivated with the ability to manage priorities
- Ability to execute operational changes to core software systems accurately and efficiently
