As we enter a transformative era of philanthropy, we are seeking an Assistant Director, University Events and Engagement to join our team.
Reporting to the Associate Director, University Events and Engagement, this role will be responsible for planning and executing university events and leadership engagements focusing on alumni and VIP/high-profile events. This person will manage all aspects of the events, from the planning stages through production and execution.
Core responsibilities include:
Initiating and coordinating communications and planning with university-wide contacts in preparation for events.
Managing all necessary details of event planning and special meetings (including room setups, audio visual requirements, catering and other logistical arrangements as necessary).
Handling contract negotiations with vendors, developing and managing event budgets, tracking spending, and projecting figures for future/proposed events.
developing event staffing plans, as well as on-site event management.
developing evaluations and research for event planning and preparing event briefing materials for leadership, as well as ensuring that events are executed according to university standards.
Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required
1-3 years of experience required
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
