Mid Level Assistant General Counsel Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level assistant general counsel job?
Position yourself as someone who has handled legal matters independently, not just supported senior counsel. Highlight transactions, disputes, or compliance projects you owned from start to finish, the business teams you advised directly, and any specialized practice area you have deepened. Tailor your resume to show growing responsibility over your career so far, and emphasize practical judgment alongside technical legal skill.
Which companies hire mid level assistant general counsels?
Companies hiring mid level assistant general counsels right now include Epic, Amazon, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including large corporations building out in-house teams, mid-size companies that need attorneys who can operate independently, and fast-growing organizations where legal headcount is expanding.
Are there remote mid level assistant general counsel jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by practice area and employer. About 25% of mid level assistant general counsel openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a meaningful shift toward flexible arrangements in corporate legal departments. Roles focused on commercial contracts, employment law, and compliance tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while positions requiring frequent collaboration with executives or litigation teams often remain hybrid.
How do I move up to a mid level assistant general counsel role?
Growth into a mid level role comes from building a record of independent legal ownership over your early years. That means moving beyond task execution to managing matters from issue-spotting through resolution, developing a recognizable specialty, and demonstrating that business stakeholders trust your judgment. Attorneys who seek out complex assignments, take initiative on process improvements, and show measurable impact on legal outcomes make the strongest case for advancement.
Which industries hire the most mid level assistant general counsels?
Mid Level assistant general counsel roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
