Associate Director Field Medical Affairs Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a associate director field medical affairs in Washington?
Most associate directors in field medical affairs in Washington hold a terminal clinical or scientific degree such as a PharmD, MD, or PhD, which serves as the foundational credential for the role. Washington does not require a specific state license unique to this position, but candidates with an active Washington State pharmacist license or physician license often have an advantage when engaging with healthcare providers. The typical path runs through medical science liaison or clinical development roles at Washington-based biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies before moving into director-level leadership.
Which companies hire associate director field medical affairss in Washington?
Employers hiring associate director field medical affairss in Washington right now include Microsoft, Amazon, and Immunome, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Washington's concentration of oncology and rare disease companies in the Seattle metro means hiring activity is particularly consistent among mid-size and large biopharmaceutical organizations with active clinical pipelines.
Which Washington cities have the most associate director field medical affairs jobs?
The cities with the most associate director field medical affairs openings in Washington are Seattle, Bothell, and Redmond. Seattle drives the largest share of demand as the anchor of the state's life sciences sector, while Bellevue and Bothell attract significant hiring from biopharmaceutical companies that have established regional offices and research operations there, creating leadership opportunities across the greater Puget Sound corridor.

Yes, but they are limited. About 33% of associate director field medical affairs openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that the role requires significant in-person engagement with key opinion leaders, medical institutions, and internal teams. The portions most amenable to remote work are strategic planning, team management, and administrative responsibilities rather than field-based stakeholder interaction.
