As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the On Premise and Next Generation Infrastructure team, you will be a seasoned member of a small, high-paced agile team spanning global locations. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a first-class private cloud offering, focusing on enabling multiple hypervisor platforms and striving for a consistent end user experience across both on premise and public cloud environments. You will not only be a software engineer, but also an innovator, leveraging AI tooling and continuous improvement practices to drive quality and efficiency. Your deep knowledge of software engineering, experience with DevOps and SRE principles, and passion for new technologies will help shape the future of our infrastructure solutions.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for HyperV cluster lifecycle automation.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, compliance enforcement , and decommissioning using PowerShell and Platform APIs.
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing. consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead production-grade deployments, own technical solutions, diagnose issues using structure troubleshooting methods.
- Work with large-scale infrastructure projects.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in system design, application development, data modeling, and testing.
- Show proficiency in server-side programming (Go, Java, PowerShell or Python) and building scalable applications in virtualized Windows environments
- Possess advanced knowledge in at least one database technology.
- Practical cloud-native experience and familiarity with deploying production-ready software.
- Understand resource allocation (CPU, memory, networking) for VMs and clusters, with hands-on experience in Microsoft HyperV.
- Strong experience in developing and maintaining automated workflows, infrastructure troubleshooting, and maintaining security compliance, authentication, and data integrity.
- Experience with data-center-scale automation and orchestration Temporal and similar orchestration tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work and influence peers globally.
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience leading engineering teams in an AI-augmented environment.
- Experience in multi hypervisor environments (VMware ESXi, OpenShift, KVM).
- Familiarity with cloud-native and DevOps.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Experience with Microsoft system Center Tooling (VMM, SCCM) in large environments.
