Role Description

The Senior Building Automation Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashua, NH. This role is responsible for overseeing building automation and control systems, including installation, configuration, programming, and optimization of HVAC, lighting, and other facility systems. The specialist monitors system performance, troubleshoots issues, and coordinates maintenance activities to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with safety and security standards. The role includes collaborating with facilities, engineering, IT, and external vendors to implement upgrades, integrate new technologies, and support energy management initiatives. The Senior Building Automation Specialist also documents system changes, develops standard operating procedures, and may mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in building automation systems, including HVAC controls, lighting controls, and integrated facility management platforms.
- Experience with system programming, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting for building control systems and related field devices.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), and integration with enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of energy management principles, system optimization, and data-driven performance analysis for building operations.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, control drawings, and specifications, and to maintain accurate records of system changes.
- Effective collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams, external contractors, and vendors in a secure, mission-focused environment.
- Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, building systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with safety, regulatory, and cybersecurity considerations related to facility and building control systems; experience in defense or high-security environments is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
