Entry Level Sports Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level sports job?
Entry level sports employers look for candidates who have demonstrated genuine involvement in athletics, events, or fan engagement, whether through internships, volunteer work, college athletics programs, or personal projects. Highlight any hands-on experience with sports operations, social media for a team or club, ticket sales, or event coordination. Certifications in areas like sports management or fitness instruction can also give you an edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level sports candidates?
Companies hiring entry level sports candidates right now include Stryker, Smith+Nephew, and Sanford Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including professional teams, collegiate athletic departments, sports media outlets, fitness brands, and event management companies.
Are there remote entry level sports jobs?
Yes, though most sports roles at this level are on-site given the nature of the work. About 2% of entry level sports openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to be concentrated in areas like sports media, content creation, digital marketing, and fan engagement rather than game-day operations or coaching roles.
Are these new grad sports jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior sports roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or volunteer work in place of full-time history, or asks for a portfolio rather than a lengthy resume. If a role says 'entry level' or does not require prior professional experience, it belongs in the new grad category.
Which industries hire the most entry level sports candidates?
Entry level sports roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because they rely on large, rotating workforces for events, content production, coaching programs, and fan-facing operations where recent graduates and junior candidates can build foundational experience quickly.
