About the Role
Ninety9 Capital is a Dallas–Fort Worth real estate investment firm. We are seeking an experienced, part-time Property Management Bookkeeper to own the bookkeeping for our single-family rental portfolio (multiple entities, ~210 homes). This is an in-office, part-time role for someone who already knows residential property management accounting and can run the books with minimal hand-holding.
This is a hands-on ownership role: you keep the SFR books clean and current, manage the accounting side of our property management software (Buildium), pay the bills, and make sure expenses and income are recorded accurately across our rental entities. You would work in-office alongside our accounting reviewer and property management team.
What You'll Do
● Own day-to-day bookkeeping for our single-family rental entities (~210 homes across multiple LLCs)
● Run the accounting side of Buildium — accounts payable, paying bills, recording expenses and income
● Maintain clean, current books and prepare/verify monthly financials (P&L) per entity
● Reconcile accounts and keep records audit-ready
● Support the property management team on cost tracking, expenses, and rent items as needed
● Work within our review process (all work reviewed by our senior accounting reviewer)
What We're Looking For
● REQUIRED: real estate accounting or property management accounting/bookkeeping experience — this is not an entry-level role
● Hands-on experience owning a set of property management or real estate books
● Experience with property management software — Buildium strongly preferred (AppFolio, Yardi, or similar considered)
● Strong bookkeeping fundamentals: AP, reconciliations, month-end, financial statements
● Accurate, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
● Reliable and in-office — this is an on-site role in Plano, TX (not remote)
Compensation & Details
● $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
● Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), in-office in Plano, TX
● W-2 employee
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week

Bookkeeper Jobs in Plano: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a bookkeeper job in Plano?
Target Plano's dense corporate hub along the Legacy Drive and Dallas North Tollway corridor, where financial services firms, healthcare networks, and national retail headquarters concentrate their accounting teams. Candidates with QuickBooks or Sage proficiency and experience in accounts payable and payable reconciliation stand out. Familiarity with multi-entity or high-volume transaction environments, common among Plano's large corporate campuses, gives applicants a clear edge over generalist candidates.
Which companies hire bookkeepers in Plano?
Plano bookkeeper roles are posted by Fisher Investments, Mosel & Ginn, PLLC, and Ericsson and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Plano's employer base runs from Fortune 500 corporate offices and regional insurance carriers to mid-size healthcare groups and specialty retailers, all of which maintain active in-house accounting functions.
Are there remote bookkeeper jobs in Plano?
Yes, though bookkeeping roles that involve handling physical documents, on-site cash reconciliation, or close coordination with a local team tend to stay in-office. About 50% of bookkeeper openings tied to Plano are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting demand from tech-forward companies in the Legacy corridor. Cloud-based accounting work, such as accounts receivable processing and monthly close support, is most commonly offered in flexible arrangements.
How can I get a bookkeeper job in Plano with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Plano is landing an accounts payable or billing clerk role at one of the city's many corporate shared-service centers, which regularly hire junior candidates and promote from within. Plano's healthcare networks and retail headquarters also bring on bookkeeping assistants who learn on the job. Completing a community college accounting certificate, such as through Collin College nearby, and demonstrating QuickBooks proficiency sharpens an entry-level application considerably.
Which industries hire the most bookkeepers in Plano?
Most bookkeeper openings in Plano sit in Insurance, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Plano's role as a regional headquarters city for financial services and healthcare companies, combined with its large retail and technology employer base, drives consistent bookkeeping demand across those sectors.
